Some people within the greater society discriminate against others based upon their birth, race, national origin, social status, sex, religion, or political persuasion. In addition, too many people have too little concern about those who are marginalized and discriminated against in wider Japanese society. Moreover, it is a fact that nursery school and kindergarten teachers often interact with marginalized people. Therefore nursery school and kindergarten teachers and students who learn about Christian early childhood care and education must learn and understand about human rights.    This paper defines the concept of human rights and discusses why nursery school and kindergarten teachers must learn and understand these concepts, especially children's human rights. First, I will examine human rights from legal stand points: Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Constitution of Japan etc. Second, I will consider the biblical view of human being including the child.
